Hue Monuments Complex

LOCATION: Central Vietnam
Walled Fortress and palace complex in Hue City, the former capital of Vietnam. The grounds of the complex, commonly known as the the "Imperial City" is surrounded by a 6 foot high wall 2 kilometers by 2 kilometers and the wall is surrounded by a moat with water from the Huong River (aka Perfume River) that flows through the city of Hue. The official UNESCO title of this site is the "Complex of Hue Monuments". Inside the Imperial City was an imperial enclosure known as the "Purple Forbidden City" that was reserved for the Nguyen Imperial Family. Separate tickets are sold for access to these structures: the Imperial Citadel the Tu Doc Tomb, the Khai Dinh Tomb, and the Minh Mang Tomb. Also known as the Hue Imperial City. Constructed in the early 19th century and modeled after Beijing's Forbidden City.

Bay in the Gulf of Tonkin with 1600 islands, islets, and isolated conical peaks and towers.Spectacular seascape of limestone pillars, arches, caves. Most islands are uninhabited because of their steep shape. One of the best example of tower karsts created by wind and waves.

Thang Long Citadel Central Sector
Citadel built in the 11th century by the Ly Viet Dynasty. Constructed on the remains of a 7th century Chinese Fort. Official world heritage site title is "Central Sector of the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long - Hanoi".

Ho Dynasty Citadel

Citadel constructed by the Ho Dynasty in the 1400's. Located in the Tay Giai Commune of the Vinh Loc District, in the Thanh Hoa Province in the North Central Coastal region of Vietnam. Also known as Thanh Nha Ho, the Ho Dynasty Castle, the Tay Do Castle, and the Tay Giai Castle. The castle was built of six foot long stone blocks and it has four gates. blocks has four gates.

Con Moong Cave

Relics 7000 to 13000 years old have been excavated from this cave that was discovered in 1975. The cave is carved in a limestone mountain along the Da River on the right bank of the Red River. It has two entrances and ancient relics were discovered near the southwest entrance. It is about 100 kilomeeters southwest of Hanoi, The cave is in the buffer zone of Cuc Phuong National Park, south of Mo Village, in the Thanh Yen Commune, Thach Thanh District of the Tanh Hoa Province (also the Ninh Binh Province?).
