Con Dao Island

This island off the southern coast of Vietnam was a prison colony during the French colonial era in Vietnam but it is becoming a popular visitor destination for Vietnamese and international tourists. Visitor attractions ons the island include beautiful beaches, a national park and marine sanctuary that includes about 20 islands, a revolutionary museum, restored prison facilities, and other sightseeing opportunities.
